    COLUMBIA - The Columbia Cougars bounced back in a big way Thursday night against the Bible Baptist Patriots after a loss to Missouri Valley on Tuesday.

    The Cougars would only lead by 15 at halftime 44-29, but a 61 point second half would lead Columbia to a win over Bible Baptist as they shoot over the 100-point mark on the game.

    COLUMBIA - The Columbia Cougars hosted the Missouri Baptist Spartans Thursday afternoon in the American Midwest Conference championship.

    The Cougars would come out hot as AMC Player of the Year award winner Kelsey Mirts nails one into the back of the net in the first ten minutes of the match to give Columbia a 1-0 lead.

    JEFFERSON CITY — Thursday state officials announced a second vaping-related death in Missouri.

    Officials with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) announced the woman was in her mid-50s. DHSS officials said her death is associated with the use of e-cigarettes or vaping products, based on discussion with the woman's doctors.

    WARRENSBURG, Mo. (AP) — A student at the University of Central Missouri is facing manslaughter charges in the shooting death of another student.

    Johnson County Prosecuting Attorney Robert Russell announced second-degree involuntary manslaughter charges Thursday against 24-year-old Jeremy Manley.

    JEFFERSON CITY - Police arrested a man Wednesday afternoon after a traffic stop turned into a chase.

    According to a press release, officers tried to stop Samuel Allen, 42, for a warrant, but said Allen didn't stop. He then crashed, at which point police said he backed into their patrol vehicles. Allen then reportedly reached into the back of the car and picked up a child to use as a shield to make sure officers did not shoot.

    JEFFERSON CITY - Bed bugs spotted at the Harry S. Truman State Office building has a number of state employees working from home, and parts of the building closed off.

    According to Office of Administration Communications Director Brittany Ruess they aren't considering this as an infestation, but confirmed a number of bugs were discovered in the building.

    CALLAWAY COUNTY - Governor Parson toured a bridge scheduled to be replaced over I-70 Thursday as MoDOT still faces a major funding roadblock.

    The Route D Bridge over I-70 in eastern Callaway County is scheduled to be demolished and replaced in the coming months.

    The historic building has been on MU's Francis Quadrangle since 1892.

    BOONE COUNTY - Deputies arrested six people in a drug bust Thursday evening after searching a home in northeast Columbia.

    The Boone County Sheriff's Department received a search warrant to a residence in the 5600 block of Pinehurst lane after there was an investigation into possible drug sales. Officers seized several controlled substances, including 160 grams of methamphetamine.

    SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (AP) — A student gunman opened fire Thursday at a Southern California high school, killing two students, wounding three others and shooting himself in the head, authorities said. He was in grave condition.

    The shooting occurred around 7:30 a.m. at Saugus High School in Santa Clarita, about 30 miles (48 kilometers) northwest of downtown Los Angeles.
