    COLUMBIA- Battle High School's Friday night football game at Hickman has been canceled to due a COVID-19 positive test and possible exposure within the Battle football program, according to a release posted on Twitter.

    ROSEMONT, Ill. — The Big Ten announced Wednesday that its football season will begin the weekend of Oct. 23-24.

    This is a reversal of the conference's Aug. 11 decision to postpone football until the spring as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

    COLUMBIA- When the Missouri football team plays Alabama in the season opener Sept. 26, at least 1,000 student tickets will be available to purchase.

    The athletic department announced that general admission student tickets will be sold on a single-game basis for $20. Students can sit on the Rock M hill or in sections 109, 110, 313, 314 and 315. Indicators on the hill and chair backs will mark available seats and will be in sets of two, four, six and eight.

    COLUMBIA - In a game riddled with turnovers, Rock Bridge (3-0, 2-0 CMAC) avenged its mistakes to defeat Jefferson City (0-3, 0-1 CMAC) 23-21 on Friday.

    Entering the matchup, the Bruins had won six of the last 10 matchups between the schools, including three consecutively. Dating back to last season, the Jays entered Friday's matchup with a nine-game losing streak.

    JEFFERSON CITY - It was a battle of ground games in Adkins Stadium as Hickman and Capital City went blow-for-blow to see whose legs and defense would outlast one another.

    After a barrage of rushing touchdowns, the Kewpies came out on top with a final score of 52-27. Hickman fought for every yard in its first win of the season, bringing its record to 1-2.

    JEFFERSON CITY - Three plays into the second quarter of Battle’s game against Helias Catholic, the Spartans lost the ball on a fumble recovered by the Crusaders’ Jacob Watson. 

    Battle was down just one touchdown then, 13-6, after quarterback Khaleel Dampier scored on a 27-yard run in the opening drive. But it was already the Spartans’ second turnover of the game, and they needed the ball back to establish an offensive rhythm.

    Welcome to Week Three of Friday Night Fever! Our game of the week features the Southern Boone County Eagles travelling to Boonville to take on the Pirates. Boonville has never beaten Southern Boone, but is sailing high following a monster 74-2 blowout of Holden last week.

    Elsewhere, Jefferson City attempts to slow down the Rock Bridge Bruins who shut out Smith-Cotton last week 42-0.

    COLUMBIA- Mizzou Athletics announced no tailgating for the 2020 football season Friday in an email to fans. 

    The emails states tailgating will be prohibited in all game-day parking lots and campus spaces "in effort to ensure the health and well-being of its fans, student-athletes, coaches, officials, staff and students."

    KINGDOM CITY- North Callaway's football game has been canceled Friday night following the death of a student-athlete, according to North Callaway Superintendent Nicole Kemp. 

    According to Kemp, the student was a football player.
