    KANSAS CITY - The new Top 25 Men's Soccer Poll has been announced with the Central Methodist University Eagles and Columbia College Cougars ranking first and second.

    Central Methodist places in first for another week after receiving 17 of the 18 first place votes.

    The 2019 boys soccer district championship is set and Jefferson City will take on Rock Bridge. The match kicks off on Thursday at 7pm at Battle High School.

    In the semi-finals Tuesday Jefferson City took down Battle 2-0 and Rock Bridge defeated Hickman 1-0.

    Columbia College picked up an 82-73 win over rival Central Methodist.

    The Cougars picked up their first win of the season after losing their first two games, both at home. Central Methodist falls to 1-2 on the year after picking up a win against Kansas Christian last Friday.

    Basketball season has tipped off and Mizzou Women's Hoops got off to a great start to their season against Western Illinois 97-89.

    Hayley Frank got Mizzou's first points of the season as Mizzou took a slim 22-21 lead at the end of the first quarter.

    KANSAS CITY- Tuesday morning, the Mid-Missouri Intercollegiate Athletic Association released its academic awards for their 2019 cross country runners.

    Among the winners were five members of the Lincoln University cross country team including nursing major, Tajera Lawkin out of New York and wellness majors out of Jamaica, Renea Ambersley, Segale Brown, Danielle James and Melissa Tyme.

    ST. LOUIS (AP) — Cardinals manager Mike Shildt has been given a new three-year contract through the 2022 season.

    Shildt was hired in 2018 and his initial deal ran through 2020.

    VISTA, Calif. (AP) — Former NFL player Kellen Winslow Jr. pleaded guilty Monday to raping an unconscious teen in 2003 and to sexual battery involving a 54-year-old hitchhiker in a deal that spared him the possibility of life in prison.

    Winslow initially hesitated and seemed to agonize over his decision.

    COLUMBIA - Mizzou Women's Basketball will tip off their 2019-2020 season by hosting the Western Illinois Leathernecks.

    The Tigers are coming off a 2018-2019 in which they won 24 games and made it to the NCAA tournament for the fourth straight year.

    COLUMBIA - Mizzou men's baketball junior Jeremiah Tilmon, Jr. has earned his first preseason honor.

    The 6' 10" forward was named preseason second team all-SEC.

    BIRMINGHAM, AL - Senior Sarah Luebbert continued to amplify her career for the Mizzou soccer team on Sunday.

    Luebbert, a graduate of Jefferson City High School, was named First Team All-SEC and SEC Co-Athlete of the Year.
