JEFFERSON CITY - One person was transported to the hospital in relation to a weapons offense Sunday morning, according to Jefferson City police.
Police responded to reports of a shooting in the 700 block of Madison Street at around 3 a.m. When they arrived at the scene, they found no one with gunshot wounds, but learned a person had been taken to the hospital with injuries.
The 21-year-old victim had been injured in the torso, and police say the victim would not give them any statement about the injuries. His wounds are being considered non-life threatening.
Police said this was not a random shooting, based on initial information from the scene.
