Family safe, pet bunny dies in 'suspicious' Columbia kitchen fire

COLUMBIA - The Columbia Fire Department ruled a Wednesday morning fire as suspicious.  

There were no injuries, but the family's pet rabbit died in smoke fire.

Fire and police went to the 4100 block of West Bethany Drive.

The fire started in the kitchen. Fire officials said the family wasn't home at the time. According to the press release, the fire was controlled in 10 minutes. Fire marshals are still investigating the cause.
