JEFFERSON CITY — Jefferson City police released more information about a shots fired call at the Capital Mall on Friday.
Several boys were looking to fight another boy, according to the news release. The boy's sister would not allow them to fight, according to the release.
A group of adult women and teenagers began assaulting the sister, according to the release.
Two sixteen-year old girls, a seventeen-year old and an eighteen-year-old have all been taken into custody for their involvement.
The shooter has not been identified, but police believed that he fired shots in the air to break up the fight, according to police.
The fight is tied to several arson charges, according to police.
The mother of the girl who was assaulted is accused of driving to two different homes of people she believed to be responsible and tossing "Molotov cocktails" into their windows.
Iasha Cannady has been charged with three counts of arson and is being held without bond.
Police say they have increased staffing for the Fourth of July to deter any further retaliation.
