Missouri Job Center to host hiring event

COLUMBIA -- The Missouri Job Center will host a job fair on Wednesday at the Daniel Boone Regional Library.
There will be around 13 employers present. Applicants with and without degrees or high school diplomas can attend the event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., according to Missouri Job Center spokesperson Nichelle Pool.
"Some will require a bachelor's degree, some will have associate's, and some just a high school diploma," Pool said. "And with some in the visuals, they don't even have to have a high school diploma."
The unemployment rate in Missouri is 3% at the moment.
The Missouri Job Center said there are more people unemployed during the winter months after seasonal jobs end.
The Missouri Job Center won't be having any more job fairs until March of 2020. Pool said people could go to the Missouri Job Center for help with job searching.
"We assist with resume writing, cover letters," Pool said. "We do job matching. We have educational, additional skill training."
