Missouri mens basketball faces down Arkansas Tuesday
COLUMBIA – Mizzou is at risk of dropping below .500 for the first time in Cuonzo Martin’s tenure when its host Arkansas Tuesday.
The Tigers will take to the court for the first time since they blew a 12 point second-half lead to Texas A&M on Saturday. They will be hoping for better fortunes against the Razorbacks.
They likely will have to do it without point guard Mark Smith again, as he continues to sit with an ankle injury. Forward Jeremiah Tilmon, however is expected to return after missing Saturday’s contest due to wisdom teeth removal.
Having another forward available in the post will be huge for the Tigers. Junior Reed Nikko played well in Tilmon’s absence against the Aggie’s, but struggled to stay out of foul trouble. He fouled out with 4:38 remaining and A&M ran away with the game from there.
Both Tilmon and Jordan Geist must step up in a big way if Mizzou is to avoid its ninth SEC loss of the year. Before missing the Saturday’s contest, Tilmon had three straight games of 15 points or more. Geist has averaged 14.7 points a game since November 18th.
