COLUMBIA - Mizzou Athletics announced the team spaces and offices in it's new south end zone facility will be completed by the Jul. 1 and the rest of the public spaces will be completed by Aug. 1.

The facility is about 200,000 square feet total and the total project will cost just under 100 million dollars.

The funds for the project is being raised through philanthropic gifts and half that's bonded through the sale of premium inventory.

Deputy Athletic Director Tim Hickman said this new facility offers new amenities and upgrades compared to the current football training space.

"The biggest changes that I think are new is the hydrotherapy area, the real extensive hydrotherapy option for training our student athletes," Hickman said. "Our weight room I think will be unprecedented and a showstopper when that's done as well."

In addition to prioritizing the athletes' football experience, the facility will also enhance the fans' experience.

Prior to the new facility, fans did not have any permanent restrooms or concession stands.

"We have reduced the capacity its about 4,500 that can sit in this area, but theres extensive amenities with premium areas, but also public areas with restrooms, concession stands, and the concourse that connects the stadium all around," Hickman said.

Hickman said he thinks this facility will not only help recruit student athletes, but help the athletes become better football players.

"After they get here its about training them, giving them the best opportunities to improve as young men, student athletes, and help them approve as a football player," he said.
