Suspects arrested with help from SWAT team, accused in home invasion robbery

COLUMBIA - A woman told police that she was sleeping in an Aspen Heights home when she woke up to a man holding a gun to her head. That January robbery led Columbia police officers and a SWAT team to two suspects Friday.

David Galentine and Jameion Parker are charged in connection to a burglary and robbery two weeks ago, according to court documents. Police said they have confessed.

A probable cause statement gives this chronology of the robbery:

On the night it happened, victim one was ordered to get out of bed at gunpoint, according to court documents. One of the suspects then took her to another room where two other victims were in bed. A second suspect was in the room pointing a gun at those two.

The suspects demanded to know where the guns, money and drugs were. Victim three said there were no guns in the home and told the suspects where his cash was. The suspects took more than $5000 and video game consoles then fled. 

The court documents showed victims two and three believed another person, identified as Jaylen James, might have planned the robbery because of a previous incident in December. At that time, James accidentally shot victim two. He is a convicted felon and not allowed to be in possession of a gun, police said.

All three of the January robbery victims falsified their statements about that shooting so James would not be arrested, according to the probable cause statement.

Police said victims two and three eventually told investigators James did the shooting. James believed that the robbery victims took his firearms, they told police.

Victims two and three said they believe James planned the January robbery because the suspects repeatedly asked "where are the guns."

Parker and Galentine became suspects in the robbery after police responded to a disturbance where a woman said she was being assaulted by Parker. She identified Parker as her boyfriend, the court documents said.

That woman told police Parker and Galentine were friends with James and two of the robbery victims. The probable cause statement said the woman told police Parker and Galentine left their apartment the night of the robbery wearing all black clothing, and, when they returned, they had cash and a video game console.

Police said, when Parker's and Galentine confessed, they said James set up the robbery.
