VIENNA - Multiple suspects are currently being questioned after officials said someone intentionally started the house fire leading to an explosion that injured six firefighters last week.

In a news release Tuesday, the Maries County Sheriff's Office said investigators determined the fire was intentionally set last Friday.

Maries County Sheriff Chris Heitman confirmed to KOMU 8 News his office was questioning "a couple" different suspects Tuesday afternoon. He could not confirm exactly how many suspects there were.

Six Vienna firefighters were injured when the home exploded as they were fighting the fire. They have all since been released from the hospital.

Officials said the investigation is still ongoing and more updates will follow.
