First Alert Forecast

Drizzle and fog is expected overnight into Wednesday morning. Temperatures along and especially north of I-70 will be at or below freezing and this will create thin layer of ice glaze on untreated surfaces.

Wednesday looks cloudy with highs in the in the middle 30s. Rain is possible Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Areas of freeing rain, sleet and snow (a wintry mix) are possible north of I-70, and especially north of HWY 24 Thursday morning. Temps will likely be above freezing only allowing for rain for areas further south.

Rain will exit by midday Thursday with clouds holding on throughout the day and highs in the upper 30s.

Our weather pattern will change into deep winter, Friday through Sunday, continuing through next week with the coldest temperatures we've experienced since early 2018 and chances for snow.

We are highly confident in another winter storm this weekend, beginning Friday evening and continuing through Sunday morning. At this time it looks like a developing low pressure system will be in our vicinity and will bring enough moisture to begin with rain on Friday evening and change to snow from north to south overnight and Saturday morning, with snowfall continuing until early Sunday morning. This will all depend on how far north or south this low pressure system places itself. Please stay tuned all week as we continue to track this winter storm.

Winds are expected to accompany this storm and will result in blowing snow and drifting.

Regardless of the location of this low, we are expecting very cold temperatures throughout the weekend with temps reaching down into the single digits and wind chills in the negatives.

There is another chance for snow Monday night and Tuesday of next week.
